Set from Barcelona

What a great Set!!

Akzo Marketing Conference Success

Hi all I know I've been away from blogging for a few weeks, but im back ready and refreshed after a nice weeks holiday in sunny Palma de Mallorca!! The run up to the conference in Barcelona went so quickly & in a hop skip and a jump we were onsite and ready to create an event to surpass all their expectations!! Day one involved me and another colleague going to Barcelona airport to deal with all the transfers for arriving delegates from Akzo which is a huge global company selling Dulux Paint amongst over brands. We spent the morning meeting&greeting everyone and sending them on their way to the ME hotel. In the afternoon we had organised a city tour for the delegates of the whole of Barcelona! Some of the sites included the famous La Segrada Familia, The Olympic Harbor, the beautiful Park Guell and Casa Milla! It was a really enjoyable afternoon, we got back to the hotel had a quick turn around and then went to the Montjuic ex Xalet for a 3 course meal with the main room slowly revolving as we ate. Some of the guests had no idea and it came as quite a surprise when they found themselves positioned some where completely different to where they had first started! On the second day the actual conference began with a fantastic video montage of what makes a brand? The business content then began with breakouts throughout the day and a buffet lunch, followed by a Gala Dinner in the evening complete with Flamenco dancers and a fantastic spoof speech by the legendary Clive Panto. Clive started the evening mix and mingling with guests pretending to be a environmental governing appointee for Akzo, it later came out through his speech that it was a spoof. His speech was legendary; he made fun out of the senior heads of the company and had the room in stitches throughout! The night ended on an absolute high with all the guests enjoying their fill of wine and good food. On the second day of the conference we had a huge surprise for the delegates. After the morning business content we had organised one of our in house team building activities 'The Apprentices'. We had 6 tasks, one was creating and branding their own perfume to go and sell on the streets of Barcelona. The second and third were chocolate tasks, where they had to go out and sell truffles and chocolate moulds. The fifth was fashion; where they had to design and create their own clothes, culminating in a huge fashion show in the evening and lastly we had a Barcelona Tourism task where we asked the delegates to develop and create their own video about Barcelona. The event was a huge success with everyone having a lot of fun in the creating designing and selling process, it all culminated in a boardroom where the teams found out who had made the most money and who was ultimately hired and fired by our own Sir Alan Sugar. On the Friday morning the delegates were shown a video that we had developed and edited on site, it was a fantastic montage of the whole conference which had a real lasting effect with everyone leaving on a real high! The feedback we received was amazing, people kept coming up to me with huge "thank you's" of how well it had gone bearing in mind it had all been so last minute (we only had 5 weeks) they were really impressed. All in all a great success!

Barcelona Barcelona Barcelona

We have been sooo busy with this Barcelona conference this month that I havent even had a chance to blog away! So far our delegates are staying at the luxurious ME hotel which is divine! On Tuesday they will be site seeing then having dinner at the Montjuic el xalet restaurant on Wednesday. On Thursday they will be participating in our team building 'The Apprentices' then Friday they depart! Apart from this huge event at the end of the month we also have a lovely Christmas Party that we are organising for a recruitment company. I'm 80 % sure the venue will be Gilgamesh in Camden, and we are possibly organising a days conference for them in November at a lovely country manor. Along with all these Juicey events we also have a large dinner dance in October for an Insurance Company and another mini conference for a pharma company. Not to mention a few team building events in September, an 'Apprentices' in Dublin no less...its very safe to say that we are crazy busy and things are good. We've had some new starters this week who are settling in really well, so welcome team!

Global Marketing Conference...Barcelona!

At only a months notice we here at Juice are pulling out all the stops in trying to organise a Global Marketing Conference for delegates from one of our top clients in Barcelona! We have chosen the ME hotel that has the most incredible views of the whole city!! There will of course be some team building thrown in, we've spoken to the client and we've all agreed on 'The Apprentices' so our delegates will be heading out onto the Spanish streets to SELL SELL SELL a variety of tasks that are yet to be finalised. If the recent event for Akzo is anything to go on, it will be a day to remember! Delegates will be arriving from around the globe and we will have the pleasure of looking after them in our week long itinerary. Some other Juicey events coming up: A team building wine tasting event today! A school sports fun day and a 650 celebratory party for a big Insurance company. Just a few things to keep the Juice Team busy!

Thinking about Christmas in July...hmmm

So another eventful week here at Juice! Its been all go and everyones with every1 being extremely busy working on various proposals! My lovely task this week was to organise a winter wonderland Christmas Party for a recruitment company. Its not in my job remit but the whole teams been so snowed under (excuse the horrendous pun) I was up for the challenge! I cannot believe the mix and mingle acts you can get for a few pounds...(well more then a few). But seriously the events world is jammed packed with fairies on stilts, walking talking Christmas trees but my absolute favourite had to be the Christmas living talking table girls! Now how does one fall into this line of work? At aged 10 do you think...hang on a minute I've always wanted to be a christmas table decoration!?! Brilliant! Its definately given me a few ideas on what to do after working hours...hmmm I wonder if you ever get that awful feeling of vertigo while standing on those stilts!?! Ok I need to get back to work now and my crazy fairy christmas world!!

Akzo Nobel Team Build "The Apprentices" Tuesday 13th July 2010

Camden Lock London Town didnt know what had hit it on Tuesday as the Juice Team arrived to set up for the most successful Team Building exercise we have EVER done! The day was flawless from start to finish, with not a hiccup in sight. The team set about transforming the Holiday Inn, Camden Lock into a chocoholics paradise! Our Brief was we had to create 4 chocolate stations where 8 teams competed against one another to win over Sir Alan and become winner of the Apprentice using their dynamic sales tactics and impressive marketing skills. The stations we created included a cup cake stand, a chocolate truffles delight, chocolate mould stand and a chocolate portrait station. All were very impressive and rather tasty! The Teams arrived promptly at midday where they met the all important Sir Alan Sugar and enjoyed a buffet working lunch with their business observers. After all the food came the fun! The master chocolatiers demonstrated the 4 various tasks to the appointed teams and then it was GO GO GO SELL SELL SELL!! First they had to make the chocolate, brand it (think of a top notch name) and then create labels using our in house graphic design team. They then boxed it and designed posters so that they could go and sell to the unassuming British public. After 3 hours of blood sweat and tears the results were in and the varying degrees of productivity were assessed by our very own Alan Sugar in a mock up style TV board room with the teams and business observers all putting in their two pennies worth! The boardroom was hilarious and we here at Juice felt that it was our most successful feedback session yet! After a great photo finale and the prizes being handed out, they all headed off to Gilgamesh for an orientally infused meal and to finish off the perfect day a video presentation of the whole event! Our feedback was excellent ..."We at AkzoNobel cant thank you enough for making our marketing workshop such a memorable day. There was endless positive feedback from the 80+ team in terms of the overall organisation of teh day and the fantastic Apprentice activity. I have now lost count of the 'it could not have been better' comments. Thanks once again to you all and all the people involved in making this a success". I think a HUGE SUCCESS had by all... I cannot wait for the next one!

Reme Army Ball

Ok so here at Juice we are starting to get over last weeks hectic week. I cannot believe the team are still standing after 11 events in 8 days but they are! Well done to them! Also the Army Reme Ball on Friday went so well! The oriental theming worked perfect with the Red mess uniforms! All the entertainment was received well and the stilt walkers didnt fall off, THANK GOD! The Lion Dancer's threw themselves into the audience coming out un scathed with only a bottle of wine spilt! The party went on until 6am with 2 of our team only managing an hours sleep, so Im very proud of them coming into the office still look a bit weary! The location was perfect and the real highlight for me was the dodgems and casino. I think I went on the dodgems about 4 times! The food was delicious, the caterers had a real hard task at getting out 500 plates at once but it came off pefect and effortless! A great Success, Reme couldnt thank us enough. A fantastic evening had by all!

Summer garden Party Success

So the office is mega busy this week.. we had an amazing Summer Party last night and it was a great success! The production Team did an amazing job of turning the grounds into a
quintessential Summer Garden Party complete with authentic boater hats for the men and pretty english flowers for the girls hair on arrival! There was a lovely Jazz band and Barbershop quartet singing for the guests as they arrived and they performed all evening. I did wonder to myself how does one get into singing in a Barbershop quartet??? But apparently they all had day jobs...and joined the Barbershop because they loved it!
The giant Jenga/chess went down a storm and everyone participated in all the games, crazy gold, croquet and Badmington! The food was put on by the Savill Court Hotel Spa in Surrey and was absolutely delicious, we got to sample some of the delights..the salmon was to die for!! Ive had fish 3 times this week, so am feeling Omeged out!
Ohh and the Fairy lights/bunting and flowers looked sooo cute in the Marquee, the florist had even added some of her own garden roses as all the ones we could source were not very English and shipped over from Holland..not the look we desired!
We had put tealights up underneath 2 of the smaller gazebos, but all thought it was a better idea not to light them as there would have been a major fire hazard, ahh the restrictions one has sometimes when trying to make things look pretty! Anyway Ive taken so many pictures and will upload them, but the clients had an amazing time and cant wait to re book with us! TOP SUCCESS!

Week 2 Monday 21st June

Ok so I'm in my second week at Juice now and I have to say I love it. Every days a whole new experience, today I woke up at 5, along with the birds/bees and burly white van men. I wearily walked down our road to Shepherds Bush station at 5.50 am, and set off to Ascot with a stary b's in hand! I'd never been to Ascot before but Its on the Map for the horse racing so I'd definately heard of it!! I arrived at 7.45, which wasnt too bad! The AV guys had already set up the night before, and had been working until 1am but they were bright and cheery considering! I had a lovely chat with the organisers from Siemens, Beverley and Gabrielle and then went to sit down and observe the masters at work..ie the AV guy Alan twiddling away on various technical instruments that I had no idea about. After a tech talk with Hugh I felt as though I had gaged more about this whole other AV world, although I would never profess to being an expert, I now knew what to look for and ask for when visiting a venue site i.e high ceilings and chandeliers that weren't to the floor! The conference started without a glitch and it was all very professional. I have to say I now know a lot more about Siemens as a company and where their headed...and Ive learnt what a CFORM plug is, all very exciting stuff!
