ACE Africa

As I said in my last post, we recently helped out with an 'It's not a question of sport' event for the ACE Africa annual fundraiser. Our MD, Paul Farris, went along to help compère the evening complete with blonde wig a la Sue Barker!
He was joined by Darren Gough, Andrew Castle, Andy Townsend, Jeremy Bates, Sam Ricketts and Steph Cook on the panels. The whole ACE team were impressed by the professionalism of the event management,
"We are extremely grateful that you were able to help us out at such short notice and ensure that this part of our evening ran so professionally and was so entertaining."
Another successful event!

It's not just a Question of Sport...

We are having a very sport-themed week here in the Juice office, with two different 'It's not just a Question of Sport' game shows to run!

Tonight we are helping out with the entertainment for the Ace Africa annual fundraising dinner, a brilliant cause and sure to be a wonderful evening. There are some special guests attending to help us out with the show and we've been busy planning their entrance music as well as themed rounds.

Then tomorrow we have another sporty game show at the Natural History Museum for Sportsworld!

I had a lot of fun the other day coming up with questions for the different rounds - trying to find random sporting facts using our Twitter followers - and I hope that they go down well tonight.

If anyone is going along to either event, have fun and WIN!

Wonderful feedback!

We just had some lovely feedback from AkzoNobel for our work on their recent Roma conference (I'm sure by now you've seen all my other posts about it!).
"Well done for all your efforts and support in helping us make the second Global Marketing Conference in Rome such a great success.
Your creativity and logistical skills during the planning period proved invaluable in helping to create a truly varied agenda that incorporated all of our event objectives.  The main conference looked really impressive with the excellent presentation of our new brand identity and the enormous wide-screen set which gave a great visual impact. All the breakouts areas also looked stylish, coordinated and colourful and were very well organized, enabling us to manage the large number of delegates from around the world.
The offsite activities were of an extremely high quality as usual and provided an exciting variety of informal city tours, fun and relaxing team building, friendly dining and stunning scenery.
Your team was very professional and positive throughout."
It's so nice to get good feedback from an event that we have put so much effort into as a company and really makes us happy to see our clients satisfied. Smiles all round!

Thank you, once again, to everyone involved on both the Juice and the AkzoNobel teams.

LondonLaunch:Live 2011

Happy Monday everyone! Hope you all had a wonderful weekend.

It's all very exciting in the office this week as we prepare for our stand at LondonLaunch:Live 2011! It's going to be a fantastic event at the Saatchi Gallery on Wednesday and Thursday of this week (19th/20th October).
It's always really exciting to be involved in such a technologically advanced show like this:
"There are no stands, but dynamic 'digital canvases™'. There are no show guides or zapper pens, but our new smart phone 'Who's in the room' app and each gallery represents a geographical location in London, a bit like stepping into our website."
This year there is obviously a lot of excitement surrounding the 2012 Olympics so there is also a "Games Room" where you can gain inspiration for hospitality opportunities and ideas. There will also be an area dedicated to 3D and how to use it affordably and effectively in the events industry.

Day 4 and Day 5

The day finally came to officially launch 'Own a Colour'!
The aim of the day was a competitive social networking challenge between different colour teams to see who could:
1. Raise the most money for UNICEF
2. Raise money in the most creative manner
So laptops/iPads/smartphones at the ready and the competitors were off!
It was a buzzing day, wonderfully compered by Stuart Longhurst and our very own MD, Paul Farris, and by the end of the day £50,000+ was raised by the teams!
After lunch, there was a social media panel held by representatives from both Facebook and Google.
And finally it was time for the conference to come to it's finale, the final dinner. A comedy murder mystery, complete with guest stars from within the conference, was a lovely end to the week and left guests wanting to stay on longer.
Friday was the last day, and Juice organised all airport transfers as well as any extra syndicate meetings that were needed before the team flew back home for a well deserved weekend rest!
All in all, the week was a massive success. AkzoNobel loved all the activities that Juice planned for them, all the guests learnt valuable information about Dulux and the new 'Let's Colour' brand ID, and £50,000 was raised for UNICEF!
So a big thank you to all who came, helped out, and joined in, from Juice.

Amount raised for UNICEF to date: £77,436

Day 3

Wednesday in Rome was the Innovation Fair!
Guests spent the morning moving round seven different areas of expertise such as interiors, packaging and digital, to talk to specialists and gain a better understanding of the Dulux brand and job roles within the company.
Guests were able to have one on one time with the specialists, ask any questions and try out any new technology being used by the company.
After lunch, a full group session with speakers to engage the guests and talk about what they had learnt that morning.
Talks about the future, what delegates would be doing differently in 2012, and an hour session on sustainability within changing markets followed, carrying on the education of the Dulux brand for the delegates.
At the end of a long and info-filled day, Juice organised another team building activity themed around Rome: Gladiators! Guests were met by Ali G (...maybe not the real thing!) after being shown the hilarious "ice cream glove" sketch as an example of innovative ideas and were transported back to ancient Rome!
Dressed up in toga's down at the beach, the different colour teams competed in a series of ancient Rome challenges such as javelin and Roman numeral puzzles, ending in team on team gladiator fights (controlled of course!) to find out who the ultimate winners were.

After the Gladiator event, the teams were taken back for a meal on site where the conference came to it's exciting peak: 'Own a Colour'.
A video of Roger Moore set the scene as guests were introduced to the new charity concept by UNICEF. Fully briefed and ready for the next day's social networking event for the official launch of 'Own a Colour', our very excited guests then headed off to bed.

Day 2

"Market Activation Day" was all about the different countries involved with the 'Let's Colour' launch.
Starting off with a wonderful talk by two experts in market segmentation and then another session by a market growth expert, the delegates were in for a fascinating and challenging day. A particular high point was a talk from UNILEVER regarding a case study on Magnum!
After a quick coffee break, guests were put into different colour groups and moved in 30 minute slots to see all the different country representatives. Seven strategies later, guests were moved back into the main room to enjoy a final session about consumer brands.
After a thoroughly eye opening day, delegates were then involved in a team building activity in the city.
A coach and walking tour with added challenges (like getting an ice cream parlour to allow one team member to make and serve an ice cream!) to get to know everyone in the team, ending in a full group dinner was the perfect way to end day 2!

The beginning of a very busy week.

At the end of September our expert Events team went to Rome to make sure the running of the AkzoNobel Global Marketing Conference 2011 went smoothly. The main aim of the conference was to celebrate the launch of the 'Let's Colour' Brand ID.
After months of planning, agendas, schedules, and design talks, the big set-up weekend finally arrived. The hotel was transformed and branded into a Dulux 'Let's Colour' space, ready for the week.
Finally, it was time for the delegates to arrive. On the schedule for Day 1 was the welcome talk: a look back at the journey of the brand, the objectives for the conference and the agenda, and then a couple of speakers to start the conference off and officially introduce the brand ID launch in more depth.

And here is where the excitement began! Unknown to the delegates, secret dancers had been posing as part of the conference for the day. So when the official dancers came on stage to present the 'flourish'....
...a mini flash mob got the crowd up and dancing along to the specially composed 'Let's Colour' song!
This got the guests excited for the week ahead. But for now...an early night, ready for tomorrow!

Current amount raised for UNICEF through the 'Own a colour' campaign: £73,203.
If you would like to help out please visit http://www.ownacolour.com/ and pledge as much as you can afford to own your very own colour!
